Bestinver and Obligo have reached an agreement to develop a wind platform with up to 150 MW of installed capacity
As part of the value generation strategy, Obligo will over the next three years consolidate various operational assets into the platform, each with up to 10 megawatts, primarily located in southern Sweden and with a proven production history.
Obligo is sourcing all new transactions through our network and presence in the area, while also carrying out the asset management, utilising our extensive experience in investment and management of wind assets to optimise and consolidate the platform. Obligo is also an investor through the article 9 regulated fund, Obligo Nordic Climate Impact Fund. Bestinver, an independent asset manager in Spain majority owned by the infrastructure conglomerate ACCIONA, is investing through their fund, Bestinver Infra II.
The platform already has around 20 MW of power with assets in two operational wind farms in Sunhultsbrunn and Tolvmanstegen (pictured). This partnership underscores Obligo’s continued commitment to investing in renewable energy and contributing to the energy transition.
Gilles Lafleuriel, head of Obligo Sweden, comments on the new partnership. “Obligo believes in the value of existing assets that have played a major role in the early stages of the energy transition. True sustainability is also about making sure that those assets continue to deliver clean energy from renewable sources reliably and for the long term.”
